Contribuições da teoria do reconhecimento de Axel Honneth para a pesquisa de comunidades quilombolas

Abstract

This work presents some elements of the theory of recognition proposed by the German philosopher Axel Honneth, affiliated with the critical theory of the Frankfurt School. Throughout the text we demonstrate how the theory developed by this scholar contributes to the analysis of the situation of traditional peoples, ethnic minorities or any other social segment. We place the theory of recognition in its three dimensions, showing how in each dimension the situation of quilombola communities in the present is materializing, considering that each dimension of recognition elaborated by Honneth corresponds to a form of disrespect, when subjects do not see themselves recognized. in a community of values or among their peers, so the denied respect becomes the spring that drives the emergence of social movements. Thus, we carry out a synthesis of the elements that are presented in the struggles of quilombola communities to show the applicability of this theory with regard to the rights that have historically been denied to these collectives.
